14 - 2 tbsp toasted sesame seeds

# How to Make It:

01 - Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook linguine until al dente according to package instructions. Drain, reserving 1/2 cup pasta water, and set aside.
02 - In a small bowl, whisk together hoisin sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, toasted sesame oil, chili garlic sauce if using, and honey. Set aside.
03 - Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add a splash of neutral oil. Add ground chicken and cook, breaking it apart until no longer pink, about 5 minutes.
04 - Add minced garlic, grated ginger, and sliced green onions to the skillet. Sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
05 - Stir in sliced bell pepper and snap peas. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes until tender-crisp.
06 - Pour the prepared sauce over the chicken and vegetables. Toss to evenly coat.
07 - Add the cooked linguine to the skillet. Toss everything together, adding reserved pasta water as needed until the sauce coats the pasta evenly.
08 - Remove from heat. Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and additional green onions or cilantro if desired. Serve immediately.

# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • It tastes like your favorite Asian takeout but comes together faster than the delivery guy could arrive.
  • The sauce clings to every strand of pasta in a way that makes each bite ridiculously satisfying.
  • You get crisp vegetables, savory meat, and a hint of sweetness all in one skillet.
  • It's flexible enough to handle whatever protein or veggies you have on hand.
02 -
  • Don't skip reserving the pasta water, it's the only thing that will bring the sauce and noodles together without making it greasy.
  • Cook the vegetables quickly over high heat so they stay crisp, soggy snap peas will ruin the texture.
  • Taste the sauce before you add it to the pan, hoisin brands vary wildly in sweetness and salt.
03 -
  • Toast your sesame seeds in a dry pan for a minute before adding them, it deepens their flavor and makes them taste more alive.
  • If your sauce tastes too salty after mixing, add another teaspoon of honey to balance it out before it hits the pan.
  • Use a wok if you have one, the high sides make tossing everything together so much easier and nothing ends up on the stove.
